What drives the price of brake rotor replacement
Rotor jobs vary with rotor quality (economy vs. OEM vs. coated or slotted), and whether the rotors are replaced or resurfaced. Machining old rotors is cheaper but only possible if they have enough thickness left. Most shops bundle rotors with new pads since installing old pads on new rotors wastes both.
All-wheel-drive and performance vehicles carry bigger, costlier rotors; some luxury makes require electronic parking-brake service mode, which pushes the job toward shops with the right scan tools.
