What drives the price of dental implant
A single-tooth implant has three components: the implant fixture placed in bone, the abutment, and the final crown. Quotes rise when the site needs extraction, socket preservation, ridge grafting, gum grafting, or a sinus lift before placement. Bone quantity, implant position, front-tooth aesthetics, and a temporary tooth affect surgical and laboratory work.
Many low implant quotes cover only the fixture. CBCT imaging, surgical guide, sedation, graft material, abutment, temporary restoration, final crown, and follow-up may appear later. Treatment can also involve separate providers, such as a surgeon placing the implant and a general dentist restoring it. Insurance may cover the crown differently from the surgical placement.
Worth asking the shop
Does this include the fixture, abutment, and final crown? Are extraction, grafting, imaging, temporary teeth, and sedation included? Who places and restores the implant? Which implant system and components will be used?
Red flags
Advertising an implant price that excludes the abutment and crown, guaranteeing immediate placement before evaluating bone and infection, using an unidentified implant system with unavailable replacement parts, or recommending extraction and implant placement before discussing whether the natural tooth can be predictably saved.
