What drives the price of dentures
Full versus partial, materials, and clinical complexity define a denture case. Full dentures replace an entire arch, while partial dentures may use acrylic, cast metal, flexible resin, or implant attachments. Severe ridge resorption, difficult bite relationships, remaining teeth, and high aesthetic demands require more appointments and laboratory work. Extractions and healing can change the fit dramatically.
The treatment timeline explains most estimate differences. Impressions or scans, bite records, try-ins, immediate dentures, extractions, temporary liners, adjustments, relines, repairs, and final dentures may be separate. An immediate denture is inserted around extraction time and often needs later relining as gums and bone heal. Implant-retained dentures also require implant surgery, attachments, and maintenance beyond the denture itself.
Worth asking the shop
Is this immediate, conventional, partial, or implant-retained? How many try-ins, adjustments, and relines are included? Are extractions and temporary liners separate? What teeth, base material, and laboratory warranty are specified?
Red flags
Promising a permanent fit immediately after multiple extractions, quoting "dentures" without identifying one arch or both, skipping a bite or wax try-in when clinically feasible, or selling implant retention without including implants, attachments, and future attachment replacement.
