What drives the price of drain cleaning
What you pay to clear a drain depends on where the blockage sits and how the tech can reach it. A sink clog near the fixture is not the same job as a main sewer blocked by distant roots. Cable machines cut or retrieve clogs, while hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour grease, scale, and roots. Roof access, missing cleanouts, long runs, and after-hours calls add setup.
The major quote difference is whether the price covers opening the line or cleaning it. Snaking may punch a temporary hole through buildup, while jetting and a camera inspection can document the pipe walls and defects. Toilet removal, cleanout installation, camera work, and repeat visits may be separate charges, so a low advertised price may cover only an accessible fixture.

An advertised drain special that excludes normal machine use, declaring the sewer broken before showing camera footage, selling hydro jetting through a fragile collapsed pipe, or repeatedly clearing roots without discussing the damaged joints letting them enter.
