What drives the price of oil change
What you pay for an oil change mostly comes down to the oil itself. Conventional oil is the cheapest, full synthetic typically runs two to three times more, and European makes that require specific manufacturer-approved oil sit at the top. Quick-lube chains are usually cheaper than dealers for the same spec, and coupons are common enough that the list price is rarely the real price.
The classic add-ons (cabin air filters, engine flushes, wiper blades) are where a cheap oil change gets expensive. None of them are urgent surprises; if something extra is recommended, it can almost always wait for a second opinion.
