What drives the price of pest control treatment
Species, infestation extent, and treatment method define a pest job. Ant baiting, cockroach crack-and-crevice treatment, rodent trapping and exclusion, termite soil barriers, and bait stations are separate services. Nest location, rooms, crawlspace access, construction, and food or moisture sources determine labor. Identification matters because treatments labeled for one pest may not control another.
Follow-up and structural work separate one proposal from another. Treatment may include a return visit or require a recurring plan. Rodent quotes may cover traps but exclude sealing entry holes. Termite proposals may use liquid treatment, monitored bait stations, or wood treatment, each with different renewal and inspection terms. Preparation, occupant restrictions, and pesticide labels should be explained before application.
Worth asking the shop
What pest and evidence did you identify? Which product, placement, and follow-up schedule are included? Does rodent service include exclusion repairs? For termites, is this a barrier, bait system, or spot treatment, and what must be renewed?
Red flags
Selling the same perimeter spray for rodents, bed bugs, and termites, claiming one visit permanently eliminates an established infestation, applying pesticide contrary to its label, or pushing a long contract before inspecting and identifying the pest.
