What drives the price of wheel bearing replacement
Most modern vehicles use hub assemblies (bearing, hub, and often the ABS sensor in one bolt-on unit), which makes the job mostly a parts-quality question. Cheap assemblies have high failure rates; the labor to do the job twice erases the savings. Older or European designs use pressed bearings, where a shop press and more labor shift the cost balance.
Bearings are quoted per corner. A humming noise that changes with speed is the classic symptom, but it's commonly confused with tire noise, so it's worth confirming before paying.
